Filming on Batman 2 will start in early 2025 according to Andy Serkis
“I’m so excited to come back and play Alfred.”
Invited to ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Andy Serkis revealed to the public that the filming of The Batman 2 should start in early 2025. For a release from mid-2026?
Here are his words:
“Well there’s this huge story arc that… Nah, I’m kidding, I won’t tell you anything at all! In fact, I don’t know anything about this film yet, except that I recently learned that we should be shooting it early next year. So if you do the math, it should be out about a year and a half later.”
Andy Serkis: “I want to play Captain Haddock again!”
“I know Matt (Reeves) is working hard on the script at the moment, he continues. Given his talents as an extraordinary screenwriter and director, I suspect he will deliver a brilliant new story. I really thought the first one was great. I love working with Rob Pattinson, and I’m so excited to come back and play Alfred.”
Warner Bros. has already dated The Batman – Part 2 to October 2, 2026, but if the schedule revealed by Andy Serkis is accurate, could it be released a little earlier than expected? Patience… The next project linked to this universe will be series The Penguin, scheduled for September on Max. As for Serkis, he must also return to the world of Lord of the Rings for a new film dedicated to Gollum.
The new Lord of the Rings movie has a name and a director!
