Glen Powell in a film adaptation of the French video game Clair Obscur?
The title event of the year 2025 could well be translated into cinema, and Hollywood actors are already starting to position themselves.
Henry Cavill is a huge fan of video games, who grew up to play in The Witcher and to carry Warhammer on screen.
Glen Powell is fully into Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33. This independent video game, developed by the Montpellier studio Sandfall Interactive, has sold millions of copies since the start of the year. A fantasy hit hailed for its immersive storytelling and haunting soundtrack.
And now the star of Top Gun: Maverick raises the temperature around its film adaptation. Interviewed by IGN, Powell said he would “very interested” by a role in the future live action film inspired by the game. “Yeah, I play it. Expedition 33. It’s a game that I’ve become a fan of. And if there’s a movie, I’d really like to be a part of it.”he declared, before kicking in when asked which character he would like to play: “I’m not going to say more than that.”he said, laughing.
A statement that immediately ignited the fans… and made Charlie Cox react.
Present at the New York Comic Con, the actor Daredevil: Born Again reacted with humor: “Ah, great, goodbye to my role! He’s the one who’s going to play Gustav in my place!”
An amused dig since Charlie Cox lends his voice to the character of Gustav in the original game. And we guess that he would like to reprise his role, in the event of a film.
The film adaptation project of Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 was announced earlier this year. The film, produced by Story Kitchen and distributed by Kepler Interactive, is currently in development. We don’t know anything yet about a date, or the casting.
