Kurt Russell, monsters, titans, and a new biblical entry for the MonsterVerse franchise.
While waiting for the cinema release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empiretoured at the end of 2022, the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), which will arrive in theaters in 2024, we discover this television variant devoted to the institute Monarch. A series called Legacy of Monsters and which promises to be spectacular as can be!
The story will be set very precisely between the events of the film Godzilla (2014) and those of Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters (2019).
The official pitch says: “After the epic battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shock of discovering that the monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” follows two siblings in their father’s footsteps to discover the connections of their family with the secret organization known as the Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately into the parallel world of army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell) , set in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by Shaw’s knowledge. This saga – spanning three generations – reveals closely guarded secrets and how epic, life-changing events can reverberate In our lifes. “
Based on the MonsterVerse from Legendary studio, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is co-developed by Chris Black (Severance) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye). The director of WandaVisionMatt Shakman, directed the first two episodes.
The cast will be carried by Kurt Russellwith his son Wyatt Russell. John Goodman will also be there, with Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski completing the cast.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will consist of 10 episodes and will be available from Friday November 17 on Apple TV+ and also on Canal+ in France. The first two episodes will be available on November 17, followed by one episode each week until January 12.
