Godzilla: the sequel to Minus One reveals its title and logo
Still directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the sequel will be called Godzilla Minus Zero.
Yesterday was the Godzilla Day in Japan (yes, it really exists, every year on November 3, to honor the release of the very first film Godzilla in 1954) and the most famous monster in cinema shakes Tokyo again: the continuation of the phenomenon Godzilla Minus One finally has a title. The next film in the franchise will be called Godzilla Minus Zeroand will once again be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, already at the helm of the previous opus released in 2023.
The announcement was made during the Godzilla Fest 2025 in Tokyo, where the official logo was also revealed – a sober and disturbing visual, designed again by Yamazaki himself. For the rest, total mystery: neither casting, nor synopsis, nor release date have yet been communicated. And no one yet knows what this mysterious “Minus Zero” really hides.

Released in 2023, Godzilla Minus One marked the kaijū’s 37th appearance in cinema (and the 33rd Toho production).
A veritable critical and public tidal wave, the film became the biggest Japanese success in the history of the saga, surpassing Shin Godzilla (2016) and rising to third place at the domestic box office in 2023.
With a budget of only $15 million, it grossed more than $113 million worldwide and won the Oscar for best visual effects, a first for a non-English-language film. A triumph which relaunched an entire myth.
Godzilla Minus Zero therefore promises to be one of the major cinema events of 2026, while awaiting the release of the sequel to its Hollywood cousin: Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.
