Good start for LOL 2.0 and Children of the Resistance at the French box office
In just one day, the two French films are already approaching 100,000 spectators (helped by their previews).
French cinema is doing well at the start of the year.
Alongside Marsupilami, Guru And The Bozharsky Affairtwo new films produced in France will try to find a place in the sun in cinemas, during these rainy winter holidays.
LOL 2.0 had an excellent first day with some 46,000 curious people who gathered in front of 549 screens to discover the rest of the adventures of Sophie Marceau. Seventeen years later, this sequel already has 86,000 admissions thanks to its numerous previews. It’s better than the first part of 2009: LOL had attracted 84,000 spectators (AVP included) before finishing with 3.6 million admissions.
At the same level, we find Children of the Resistance. Christophe Barratier’s film, adapted from the famous comic book, attracts 42,000 fans in almost 600 theaters, but already has 94,000 admissions thanks to its more numerous previews.
Behind these two excellent starts, Stormwind with Margot Robbie brings together 50,000 spectators in 378 theaters (including AVP).
We note that Ahmed Sylla attracted 23,153 spectators with The Infiltrator (AVP included) in 261 rooms.
Behind, the adaptation of Cleaver by Park Chan-wook, No other choiceattracts 14,000 curious people in 150 rooms – a better average than the new Sam Raimi. His horror survivor thriller Send Help is limited to 16,000 spectators in 225 theaters.
