The actor had doubled the hero of the first three Star Wars films in France.

It is an unforgettable voice of French cinema which has just died.

The actor Dominique Collignon-Maurin died on August 4 at the age of 76, announced his nephew Emmanuel Karsen on social networks. He had been suffering from a disease for several years.

Discreet but significant figure in cinema and dubbing, Dominique Collignon-Maurin was notably known for having lent his voice to Luke Skywalker in the French version of Star Wars. He had thus doubled Mark Hamill as a hero of the galaxy very distant in Episodes IV, V and VI of the saga of George Lucas.

Dominique Collignon-Maurin had started his career very early in the “Petits Maurin”, the troupe of the actress Mado Maurin, where his brothers were also found, including Patrick Dewaere. He goes on stage from the age of 9.

In the cinema, he was showing a hundred films, TV movies and series, including The beautiful American by Robert Dhéry (1961), Special friendships by Jean Delannoy (1964), The big holidays by Jean Girault (1967) and The fifth element by Luc Besson (1997).

Dominique Collignon-Maurin will then lend his voice to many Hollywood stars at the cinema. He will notably be for 40 years the official voice of Nicolas Cage in France. Of Rock has Benjamin Gatespassing by Volte/Face and until the recent Surf.
