I promise, with Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead will finally do something “different”
“Our series will introduce new characters, new themes and is an exciting extension of the genre…”
The least we can say is that The Walking Dead: Dead City didn’t really renew the franchise. But promised, with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the saga will finally find a new lease of life. Executive producer Greg Nicotero teases the spin-off in EW and promises something new:
“It’s probably an independent story like never before in the saga. The goal is not just to see Daryl in exotic and new places, in France, but to explore a totally different world.”
Daryl Dixon should therefore mark a break with the 11 seasons of The Walking Dead and its derivative series and Greg Nicotero already promises: “It’s not the same thing. Clearly! Our series will introduce new characters, new themes and is an exciting extension of the genre that will delight fans of walking dead who want more”.
Even more, the director hopes to reach post-apo fans in general. And there are still many of them, as the successes of The Last of Us And Station Eleven : “There are still moving survival stories to be told. And our goal is to satisfy people who want to go on an adventure. Come on up, it’s going to be one hell of an adventure.”
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be on view this fall.
