“It’s okay, you’re not going to give me a MeToo!” Gérard Darmon accused by 9 women of sexist and sexual violence

The actor is targeted by testimonies from technicians who worked with him on film sets.

The actor Gérard Darmon is today implicated by nine women, who accuse him of sexist and sexual violence, during a long investigation published today by the Politis site.

They are dressers, makeup artists, hairdressers or production assistants and one of them even indicated that she had filed a complaint against her production for “lack of protection” facing the actor.

Gérard Darmoncalled to respond to the accusations, denies having been the author of inappropriate comments or gestures.

Despite everything, around ten testimonies report facts ranging from 2018 to the summer of 2024. A technician, who was an intern on a shoot where Gérard Darmon played the main role, describes a man “very honeyed, pressing his kisses to the corner of his mouth. He also suggested to her:We can make love, you can come to my house” reports Politis, which specifies that the young woman refused and immediately wrote to the teaching team at her film school:

Gérard Darmon made more than advances towards me and I refused him. Then his behavior became inappropriate, even insulting me.”

Other young women testify and one of them, a first assistant director, reports that the actor slipped his hand between her thighs, while she was sitting, saying to her: “It’s okay, you’re not going to give me a MeToo!”

The women in question express their hesitation to denounce these acts, being afraid “to see their professional future disrupted, even prevented, by this media coverage of speech (…) We are faced with actors who have all the power over the film.”
