“It’s too expensive!” Alan Ritchson explains why the latest Fast & Furious is so complicated to produce

While Fast Forever is still in preparation, the actor recognizes that the production of the last part of the saga faces a major obstacle: its budget, which has become excessive.

The construction site of Fast Forever is definitely more complicated than expected.

Interviewed in the podcast Happy Sad ConfusedAlan Ritchson, who joined the franchise in Fast Xadmitted that the main problem with the film was… its cost.

“It’s too expensive. It doesn’t really make sense anymore. There must be a more efficient way to shoot these films“, believes the actor.

According to him, the saga has reached a point where it must learn to be more reasonable without losing what made it successful:

“We have to find a way to show restraint while respecting the fact that this universe has become gigantic. It’s very difficult. We are at a crossroads in the industry, faced with this type of financing problem, which is very complicated to resolve.“

Despite these difficulties, Alan Ritchson remains confident:

“I think there will be another movie, and I think it will be excellent. We just have to solve big problems, real problems.”

The actor specifies that discussions around the project are permanent within the team and that there is “many obstacles” before we can fully launch production. He also emphasizes that Vin Diesel remains the main driving force behind the project.

Still in pre-production, Fast Foreverdirected by Louis Leterrier, is still dated in theaters for March 13, 2028 in France.
