Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley for the remake of a French horror film
Possession by Andrzej Żuławski will be entitled to a US version.
Half a century after Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani, it is Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley who should play again Possession !
The English actor and the American star are in negotiations to play the lead roles in the remake of this cult French horror film from 1981, produced by Paramount Pictures.
This remake will be directed by Parker Finn, known for creating the successful horror franchise smile. Robert Pattinson was to play the leading role, but ultimately handed over to Turner. He remains attached to the project as producer.
The original, directed and co-written by the late Polish filmmaker Andrzej Żuławski, followed Sam Neill (Mark) and Isabelle Adjani (Anna), a married couple whose lives are turned upside down after Anna suddenly leaves Mark because of an affair. Very quickly, Mark discovers that a much darker reason lies behind this separation, with Anna displaying strange behavior. Presented at the Cannes Film Festival, the film earned Adjani the award for best actress.
It should be noted that Callum Turner is one of the main contenders to play the new James Bondeven if Jacob Elordi now seems to hold the rope. We saw him recently in the romantic comedy For Eternity (A24) alongside Elizabeth Olsen. As for Margaret Qualley, she will soon appear in the black comedy How to Make a Killwith Glen Powell, and in Ridley Scott’s next science fiction film, The Dog Stars…led by Jacob Elordi.
