Jeremy Renner is not fit enough to play difficult roles
The actor admits to still being scarred by his accident. “I don’t have the fuel. I already have so much fuel to put into my reality, into this body…”
A year and a half after the accident that nearly cost him his life, Jeremy Renner has not completely recovered his full capabilities. In a recent interview on the “Smartless” podcast, the Marvel actor admitted that he didn’t “ energy » to take on roles that are too demanding:
“I just don’t have the energy for it. I don’t have the fuel. I already have so much fuel to put into my reality, this body, all of that… I can’t play pretend right now. Because it takes a long time to get myself back every day, just so I can think positively, so I can progress, so I can always keep evolving…”
After being crushed by a large snowplow, Jeremy Renner underwent numerous surgeries and lengthy rehabilitation. He admits to being “ terrified » to the idea of returning to acting.
“Because I have to make fucking fiction? I’m still trying to live in reality, trying to live. So it’s a hard line for me to cross. It took me a long time to get there to come back” says the actor, who currently stars in season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown. “It was very, very difficult for me mentally to overcome that obstacle. I still struggle with it sometimes. I don’t take what I do very seriously. Here I am in a character that I can play as eyes closed. I know the series very well, so it’s easy for me to jump back into it, but if I had to do a more difficult role, I wouldn’t be able to accept it. If I had to play Dahmer or something like that. , that would be too far for me today.”
Jeremy Renner will soon participate in Knives Out 3, Rian Johnson, titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” His first film since his accident.
