Jumpers and Pixar continue to jump at the US box office
The original animated film remains at the top of the rankings and holds its own against the new romance drama Memories of Him.
The latest Pixar is always bouncy.
The dynamic is confirmed for Jumpers : the new animated film is holding strong at the American box office for its second weekend.
The film will gross nearly $30 million, with a drop limited to around -33%, a much smaller decline than expected. Result: the domestic total is now approaching 90 million dollars, already significantly more than Elio (72 million in 2025) and Ahead, who ended his American career at 61.5 million (in 2020). It should approach the scores of Elementarywhich had earned some 150 million in North America in the summer of 2024 (and almost 500 million worldwide). With a worldwide total of $164.7 million at present, this success is significant for Pixar. With Jumpersthe studio confirms that it can develop new successes with original stories, without simply making sequels.
The surprise Memories of him
Another notable performance of the weekend: Memories of him (Reminders of Him), adaptation of the novel by Colleen Hoover. The film, largely supported by female audiences (81% of spectators across the Atlantic), exceeds expectations with more than 18 million dollars for its first weekend. The feature film – worn by Maika Monroe (It Follows) and will be released next Wednesday in French cinemas – has also grossed $10 million in 56 foreign territories, for a worldwide total of $28.2 million. A solid start considering its $25 million budget.
Indie horror takes to the podium
On the independent cinema side, the horror film Undertone produced by A24 is targeting around $10 million for its launch weekend, which should allow it to land third place at the US box office. No French release date has yet been announced.
The sudden fall of The Bride!
On the other hand, the situation is much more complicated for The Bride!. The Warner Bros. film, with an estimated budget of $80 million, tanked 70% in its second weekend with just $2.1 million more. Its American cumulative total should reach a little more than 11 million dollars, for around 21 million worldwide. Figures that are far from sufficient for a project of this magnitude.
