Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick for a video game: trailer

Lionsgate studio is teaming up with Saber Interactive for a new project set in the franchise universe.

Three years after the release of Chapter 4 in theaters, John Wick is back for a new opus… on your consoles.

While waiting to see John Wick 5 come to fruition in the cinema, Keanu Reeves once again dons the costume of the hitman, but this time for a video game.

Lionsgate studios and Saber Interactive have formalized a new project set in the franchise universe, accompanied by a first trailer and first details (see below).

The game, still without an official title, is a third-person single-player action title in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Keanu Reeves will reprise his cult role in a brutal experience designed for an adult audience. The story will take place several years before the films and the famous “Impossible Task” – this near-suicidal mission that Wick accomplished before the events of the first film to leave the world of hitmen. We will therefore take in hand a young John, to explore his mythology with new characters alongside familiar faces. The films’ director, Chad Stahelski, is also involved in the project.

The trailer reveals the narrative and visual tone of the project, between stylized action, signature gun-fu, intense combat, chases and immersive environments. The game will tell an original story, with a setting designed to give the impression of living a real interactive feature film. The developers promise a mix of spectacular framing, cinematic narration and nervous gameplay, with a clear objective: for players to have the feeling of being in a John Wick film, embodying Baba Yaga themselves.

No release date announced yet.
