Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson finally reunite in Brothers: first image
The two stars of True Detective find themselves in a comedy where they play… fictional versions of themselves. It will be seen on Apple TV.
After making an impression in the first season of True Detective, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson reunite as their duo in Brothers, a slightly crazy new series, the first image of which has just been revealed.
In this eight-episode fiction, the two actors play fictionalized versions of themselves. Their long-standing friendship is turned upside down when a family secret calls everything into question: what if they were actually brothers?
“Their friendship is turned upside down when they discover that they might be brothers. When Woody’s daughter’s marriage falls through, he takes his family for a stay at Matthew’s ranch in Austin. But what begins as a calming moment degenerates when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, accidentally lets slip an old secret: the two friends might actually be brothers. While Woody turns the ranch upside down to find the truth, Matthew experiences a whole other existential crisis: the opportunity to run for Governor of Texas What follows is a moving, chaotic and hilarious story about friendship, family, fame and the fine line between myth and reality.
The series thus promises a mixture of humor, emotion and self-deprecation around friendship, family, celebrity and the sometimes blurred border between reality and fiction.
Around the two stars, we will also find Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, Oona Yaffe and Holland Taylor.
Produced by McConaughey and Harrelson themselves, Brothers is overseen by showrunner Lee Eisenberg. The first two episodes will be posted online on September 23, before broadcast weekly until November 4. In France on Apple TV (and also via MyCanal).
