A musical by Matthew Vaughn and Damien Chazelle
You read correctly: the director of Kingsman wants to make a film written by the director of La La Land.
The information went almost unnoticed as the news of Matthew Vaughn was important this week. The British director, known for X-Men: The Beginning, Kick-Ass or Kingsmanpresented in England his new film, a spy comedy entitled Argyle.
Equipped with a large cast (Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson…) and a substantial budget, this author’s story which will live an experience even crazier than those that she imagines for her books is the subject of the craziest rumors. The latest one? The original book was reportedly written by none other than Taylor Swift!

On the occasion of the upcoming release ofArgyle, Deadline met Vaughn, and it was an opportunity to take stock of his career. From his experience on Layer Cake to his desire to follow up on Kick-Ass Or Kingsman, through the unfailing support of his wife Claudia Schiffer, the director confides. We then learn at the very end of the paper that he would soon like to direct a musical comedy written by Damien Chazelle.
The director of La La Land reportedly dreamed up a story for his studio, Marv Films, that he wouldn’t plan to direct himself, but Vaughn himself would be up for it.
“Marv Films has several projects in development, including a musical written by Damien Chazelle, the director of La La Landwhich Vaughn wants to direct, writes the American magazine precisely. And then there are potential sequels and prequels ofArgyle and of Kingsmanas well as a film entitled Project X which he has been filming in the UK for the past 11 weeks. ‘Quiet’he whispers.
