No, it’s not quite Star Trek 4. Paramount has just started production on its new film Star Trek: Section 31which will be led by Michelle Yeoh. It is actually a spin-off of the series Star Trek: Discovery. Announced for a long time, it was initially supposed to be another series, but ultimately the project was transformed into a feature film.

Star Trek: Section 31 is directed and produced by Olatunde Osunsanmi from a screenplay written by Craig Sweeny.
Michelle Yeoh resumes the role of Philippa Georgiou, authoritarian Empress from a parallel world. After being brought back to the Star Trek: Discovery universe, Georgiou finds herself within Starfleet and her brutality leads to her being named leader of a secret division of Starfleet, tasked with protecting the Federation.facing the sins of his past”, says the synopsis of Section 31.
Omari Hardwick, Robert Kazinsky, Kacey Rohl, James Hiroyuki Liao, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok and Humberly Gonzalez joined the cast along the way.
Star Trek: Section 31 will be available to watch in streaming on Paramount +. No release date yet.
