She will meet Jamie Lee Curtis on screen for the first time.

Nicole Kidman continues her television career. While waiting for Big Little Lies 3, she will return to Prime Video for Scarpetta.

The star has already filmed Nine Perfect Strangers and The Expats for the Amazon platform. This time it will be a crime thriller in which she will play a forensic doctor.

Scarpetta is Dr. Kay Scarpetta, played by Nicole Kidman, a forensic pathologist determined to be the voice of victims, to unmask a serial killer and to prove that the case that made her career 28 years earlier will not lead to her downfall. The series takes place across two timelines: her debut in the late ’90s and her return to her hometown, where she returns to her job while investigating a grisly murder.

The cast also includes Jamie Lee Curtis (Dorothy Farinelli), as well as Bobby Cannavale (Detective Pete Marino), Simon Baker (FBI profiler Benton Wesley) and Ariana DeBose (Lucy Watson, Kay’s tech-savvy niece). The younger versions of the characters are played by Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale and Hunter Parrish.

The series will be written and produced by Liz Sarnoff, behind the comedy series Barry (HBO). She also worked on The Leftovers and Lost, where she worked as a screenwriter.

Scarpetta is adapted from Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling novel series, which has sold more than 120 million copies worldwide.

Released March 11, 2026 on Prime Video.
