“No competition between us!” This film which brings together The Rings of Power and House of the Dragon

Small-screen fantasy rivals Morfydd Clark and Matt Smith will be reunited this week in the horror thriller Starve Acre.

She is Galadriel in Middle Earth. He is Daemon in Westeros. Morfydd Clark And Matt Smith are the stars of Rings of Power And House of the Dragonthe two very big-budget heroic fantasy series that have been competing on Prime Video and Max for two years. And yet, between the Welsh and the English, it’s a cordial understanding.

Morfydd Clark And Matt Smith even shot a film together called Starve Acre. A horror thriller directed by Daniel Kokotajloin which they play Richard and Juliette, “a couple living an idyllic life in the English countryside… until their son Ewan starts behaving abnormally!“

“What was great about Matt was that we shot this movie right before season 1 of House of the Dragon and season 1 of Rings of Power” tell Morfydd Clarkquestioned by Première.So no competition between us on the set!” laughs the young British actress, who even tells us that she took advantage of this shoot to ask her playmate for advice: “I was terrified because The Rings of Power is my first rodeo in this kind of blockbuster. He already had some experience in the matter, with Doctor Who for example. So he reassured me, he guided me. And we spent each month in armor, with a wig on our heads..”

Morfydd Clark thus recalls this somewhat strange shoot, in the depths of the English countryside, just before plunging into pure fantasy: “What was funny was that we filmed Starve Acre in a little cabin in the woods in the middle of Yorkshire, so we couldn’t be further away from dragons and kings and queens (laughs). And then sharing the joy of filming in armour creates bonds that last forever…”

Starve Acre is released in theaters in the United Kingdom on September 6. No release date in France yet.
