Bob Odenkirk returns in Nobody 2: first photo

Nobody 2: a sluggish suite (critic)

Despite the slaughter of Bob Odenkirk, this action comedy suffers from an overly sluggish and expected scenario to justify the existence of this second part.

It was in 2021 that we met Hutch Mansell, Monsieur Tout-le-Monde lost in the Metro-Boulot-Dodo triptych and seen as a loser by his family before a burglary attempt made him twist and wakes up in him violent instincts and unsuspected lethal skills. Effective entertainment – although drawing on the line – thanks to Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) brilliant in a counter -employment at Jason Statham.

60 million global revenues later (for a budget of 16), Nobody is therefore experiencing a sequel where the John Wick’s paw is strengthened in production (Chad Stahelski joined David Leitch), where the director changes (Timo Tjahjanto instead of Ilia Naïchouller) and where they were this time on the scenario (Bob Odenkirk himself, Aaron Rabin and Ulmair Aleem joining Derek Koslstad… One of the creators of the John Wick franchise).

We find Hutch there who, four years after his unfortunate altercation with the Russian mafia, still owes $ 30 million to the formidable organization he tries to reimburse by chaining the contracts of a list of criminals to shoot down. Somewhat overworked, he went on vacation, at the request of his wife, with all his family (his children, his father) in an Arkansas amusement park, where he had his kid. A place of relaxation and leisure where obviously nothing will happen as planned, summoning its qualities in a pif and flinging managers.

And no matter how much we look for, it is difficult to understand why it took four writers to trush a plot as agreed to the twists and turns expected and unable to bring any originality compared to the first part. Obviously, the staging of Bastons and shootings in Gogo is of undeniable efficiency. Obviously, Bob Odenkirk is once again irresistible and the newcomer of the band, Sharon Stone, is having a great time in the role of the wicked who knows no limits to make terror reign. But that is not enough to make this sequel something other than a lazy copy and paste of the first Nobody.

By Timo Tjahjanto. With Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, Christopher Llyod… Duration: 1h29. Released on August 13, 2025
