George Clooney announces filming in 2026 for Ocean 14

Ocean’s 14 will be an “old-fashioned heist” reveals George Clooney

Danny and his friends have become robber grandpas….

Nearly twenty years after putting away Danny Ocean’s tuxedo, George Clooney is preparing to reunite the gang once again. The actor gave concrete news of Ocean’s 14 and explained his reasons for resurrecting one of Hollywood’s most iconic heist franchises.

In an interview with Variety, George Clooney confides that this fourth part will draw its inspiration from Going in Style1979 comedy-drama known in France under the title Old-fashioned heist, and centered on three aging men who decide to rob a bank. Martin Brest’s film notably brought together George Burns and Art Carney. A remake in 2017 featured Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman on behalf of Zach Braff.

Far from a simple nostalgic exercise, Ocean’s 14 intends to explore the terrain of heist when one is no longer quite young, nor as alert as before. He details:

“There was something very appealing about this idea: we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get by. They are no longer as sharp as before, and must learn to work around their own limitations.”

For the occasion, the actor will find several familiar faces from the saga. Matt Damon will reprise the role of Linus Caldwell, Brad Pitt that of Rusty Ryan, Julia Roberts will return as Tess Ocean, while Don Cheadle will once again play Basher Tarr. Last November, Andy Garcia also confirmed his return as Terry Benedict.

Clooney also validated a key stage of the project: the financial green light. “The budget has just been approved at Warner Bros. We are in the process of putting everything in place”he clarified. “It’s mainly a question of planning. Filming should start in nine or ten months.” Filming at the end of 2026 and therefore release to be planned for the end of 2027 in theaters.

At this point, no director has yet been officially announced. David Leitch, who directed Brad Pitt in Bullet Trainwas mentioned for a time to stage the film. Steven Soderbergh, director of the first three parts, however, should not take the helm again.
