A spin-off of the films led by Chris Hemsworth, which will be called Mercenary.

After his romantic comedy Notting Hill Reversed, this fall, and while waiting for Lupine 4, Omar Sy will once again be an event on Netflix in 2026 in the spin-off series from Tyler Rake. The highly anticipated spin-off of the action franchise led by Chris Hemsworth now has an official title: Mercenary.

An announcement accompanied by a first image revealing Omar Sy in full immersion in the brutal and ultra-tense universe of the saga.

Made up of eight episodes, the series promises to be a muscular thriller. The official synopsis sets the tone: “In this action thriller, a mercenary embarks on a perilous mission to free hostages in Libya. Caught between rival factions and ruthless killers, he must face life or death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds.”

Mercenary will head-on explore themes of trauma, betrayal and the moral dilemmas of characters pushed to their limits.

The choral cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Natalie Dormer, Sacha Dhawan, Ed Speleers, Pip Torrens and Ross McCall, alongside numerous international actors.

The series is produced by studio AGBO, with Anthony and Joe Russo executive producing, accompanied by Sam Hargrave, already director of the Tyler Rake films.
