Six years after his first feature film, A couch in Tunis with the fabulous poster Golshifteh Farahani,, Manele Labidi (nominated at César for the best first film) come back to the screen with Queen mother. Again in the register of comedy Dramatic, the director will explore the questions of identity, history, racism and discrimination but always with a comic tone. Themes committed and tinged with humor which allow the story and the characters to exploit all their power. Queen mother Follows the daily life of Amel (Camélia Jordana) and her family. Mother of two daughters, she is in a relationship with Amor (Sofiane Zermani). But when its owner wants to recover their apartment, the family may lose their accommodation. Amel is determined not to leave the beautiful neighborhoods. Meanwhile, Mouna (Rim Monfort) her eldest daughter begins to have visions of Charles Martel (Damien Bonnard) after learning that in 732, he arrested the Arabs in Poitiers. Pending new social housing, Amel will have to surpass himself!

Initially known for her music, Camélia Jordana sets off in the cinema in 2013. She won the Caesar of the best female revelation for its role in The brilliance From Yvan Attal in 2018.
