Season 3 of Big Little Lies should indeed see the light of day
HBO is already in the starting blocks: “When they are ready, we will take the next step.”
Five after the sequel (much less successful), a third season of Big Little Lies is becoming clearer on the HBO side.
Boss Casey Bloys confirmed today that he had “a little about the idea” with the stars involved. “I think it could be great” he teases, suggesting that HBO is in and is now waiting for the planets to align.
Reese Witherspoonproducer of the series, recently said she was in the process of “to work” on this season 3 with Nicole Kidmanalso very involved: “Nic and I worked a lot on it!”
According to the HBO boss, Resese Witherspoon And Nicole Kidman are in contact with writer Liane Moriarty (who wrote the original novel) to discuss ways to expand the storyline and characters. Casey Bloys also thinks that the screenwriter David E. Kelleywho adapted the book by writing the first two seasons, will also be in the mix.
The question is whether it will be possible to bring back Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz, Adam Scotteven Meryl Streep for the following: “When you have all these stars, you have to align their agendas. All of this must be written in black and white. So there is a lot to do. We’re only in the early stages right now. The entire cast is doing shows and movies, and everyone is very busy. But this is a very special group. They love working together. And if they have an idea, I believe they will make it happen. We’re excited about them and when they’re ready we’ll take the next step.”
It remains that the sudden death (in 2021) of Jean-Marc Valléedirector of the series, to whom he gave his visual touch, is a major obstacle for certain stars, who could not imagine returning to Monterey without him.
