Seth MacFarlane doesn't see why he would end Family Guy
Long live the Griffins!
Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson, same fight. Even in longevity. The comedy Family Guy celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and while the 22nd season has just ended in the United States, the creator Seth MacFarlane announces that the irreverent cartoon has no end in sight:
“At this point, I don’t see any good reason to stop!”
In this recent interview with LA Times, Seth MacFarlane says he is ready to “continue for 25 more years… As long as the public doesn't get tired of it!“
According to him, “people always like Family Guy. It makes people happy and funds other good projects. It’s a series that brings in a lot of cash: you can donate to save the rainforest and at the same time, there’s enough to go out to dinner!”
Yet, Seth MacFarlane thought about ending the family Griffin, A day. But he changed his mind:
“There was a time when I thought, 'It's time to call it a day.' But at this point, we've reached an infinite cruising speed. I don't know if there's any reason to stop now, Unless people are sick of it. Unless the numbers just show that the public doesn't care about Family Guy anymore.”
Family Guy is still a safe bet for Fox, with an average of 1.21 million viewers this year. Season 23 has already been ordered.
