Holly Hunter presents the establishment which will form the future officers of the Federation.

Direction the 32nd century! The Star Trek saga will continue and renew itself with a brand new series that will leave the stars to bring us back to earth.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will tell us about the training of federation officers, those intended to explore where nobody went, at the bottom of the cosmos.

In the trailer unveiled by Paramount, we listen to Holly Hunter (Oscar winner for the piano lesson) who plays Nahla Ake, Chancellor of the Academy and Captain of the USS Athena. It welcomes the new cadet promo, which we discover exploring the futuristic installations of the campus.

Located after Star Trek’s events: Discovery, the series will start with the reopening of the legendary Starfleet Academy, relocated near San Francisco, more than a century after the withdrawal of the Earth Federation. A homecoming … and hope, according to executive producer Alex Kurtzman: “We look at a generation that inherits a divided world, immense issues. We wanted a series that brings us back to the essential vision of (gene) Roddenberry. How to find it?”

The teaser ends with the appearance of Paul Giamatti, worrying at will in the role of Nus Braka, the main antagonist of the season. In mid-Klingon, half-Talitis, his character is described as “a man with a troubled past, closely linked to one of the cadets.”

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will be released in early 2026 on Paramount +.
