Stranger Things 5: the true duration of the episodes of part 1 revealed

No, not all episodes of the final season will be 1h30 long.

Always longer?

We were talking about nothing less than eight short films to complete the story of Stranger Things. A priori, it will not be as XXL.

The official duration of the first four episodes of season 5 – those of part 1 – has been revealed. And contrary to rumors that have been circulating for several weeks, the episodes will not all last 90 minutes.

On Instagram, Ross Duffer, co-creator of the cult Netflix series with his brother Matt Duffer, revealed the precise duration of the first four chapters of this highly anticipated season 5:

  • Episode 1 (The Crawl): 1h08

  • Episode 2 (title still kept secret): 54 min

  • Episode 3 (The Turnbow Trap): 1h06

  • Episode 4 (Sorcerer): 1h23

The creators of Stranger Things therefore wanted to calm speculation that was gaining momentum on social networks, suggesting that each episode would last between 1h30 and 2h.

It must be said that the length of the “chapters” of Stranger Things has become a real subject over the seasons. When it debuted in 2016, the series rarely exceeded 50 minutes per episode. But the production exploded the meters during season 4: almost all the episodes exceeded 70 minutes, and the finale even reached 2h22!

We don’t yet know how long the series finale will last… This fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be launched in three stages: Volume 1 (four episodes) will arrive on November 26, Volume 2 (three episodes) will be available at Christmas, and the grand finale will be broadcast on December 31. Each game will go live at 5 a.m. French time.
