Broken Rage will in fact be a hybrid project, produced and supported by Kitano, divided into two distinct segments. The first half will show a stark thriller following a hitman caught between law enforcement and Yakuza forces, while the second part will reimagine the same story… through the prism of comedy, using auto techniques. -parody.
In the casting, we will find the actor of the series Shogun, Tadanobu Asanoas well as Nao Omorione of the Japanese filmmaker’s favorite actors.
Takeshi Kitano describes himself Broken Rage like a “ experimental company “, which explores its “conceptual interest in the search for comedy in a violent film“.
Screened in preview at the Venice Film Festival last September, Broken Rage will be released worldwide in streaming on Prime Video on February 13.
