Teaser: Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton at Pedro Almodóvar
The Room Next Door will be the Spanish filmmaker’s first English-language feature film.
Three years later Parallel mothersthe director Pedro Almodovar signs his big comeback to the cinema. Following his short film Strange Way of Lifewith Ethan Hawke (released last year), the filmmaker continues in the language of Shakespeare and will be released at the end of the year The Room Next Doorhis very first feature film made entirely in English.
Two Hollywood stars will lead the cast, Julianne Moore And Tilda Swinton – accompanied by John Turturro – and they are already at the center of the very first teaser, which is particularly mute (see below).
“The story is about a very imperfect mother and a resentful daughter separated by a great misunderstanding.” details the synopsis. “Between the two, another woman, Ingrid, the mother’s friend, is the repository of their pain and bitterness. Martha, the mother, is a war reporter and Ingrid is an autofictional novelist.”
Sony also announced a theatrical release date of December 20 for The Room Next Door.
