The Mandalorian & Grogu will “probably” be released in theaters in 2026
This will be the next Star Wars film, confirms the boss of Disney.
A little more patience before returning to the galaxy far, far away. Star Wars will return to dark rooms with The Mandalorian & Grogu. And the Hollywood Reporter reveals that Disney CEO Bog Iger confirmed in his latest financial report a “probable” release of the film in 2026.
He specifies in passing that The Mandalorian & Grogu will indeed be the next Star Wars film and that it will therefore arrive before Star Wars (with Daisy Ridley).

“The Mandalorian & Grogu embark on new adventuresteases Lucasfilm, which reveals in passing that Jon Favreau will be the director, of the film produced by Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni. No name in the casting has yet been mentioned, but we imagine that Pedro Pascal will be.
First film Star Wars in the cinema since The Rise of Skywalkerin 2019, The Mandalorian & Grogu will mark the start of the franchise’s comeback in theaters. Three other films are currently in development at Lucasfilm, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold and Dave Filoni.
