Director Chad Stahelski is very optimistic.

There can only be one … and it will be Henry Cavill.

After years in the Hollywood limbo, the Immortal Scottish is about to draw again. The long -awaited reboot of Highlander – carried by the ex-Superman and produced by Chad Stahelski (John Wick) – finally seems to advance concretely: the shooting – initially planned for the start of the year – could start in September 2025, for a release scheduled for 2027 or 2028.

Announced for the first time in 2021, the project has remained discreet so far, fueling rumors and speculation. But during an interview with ColliderStahelski revealed:

“If everything is going well in the coming 24 hours, we will start to shoot in September. And in 2027 or 2028, you will see Highlander in the cinema.”

This should delight lovers of Quickening.

This new Highlander will mark the first incursion of the franchise on the big screen since the end of the era Christopher Lambertwhose role of Connor MacLeod marked an entire generation. Created by Gregory Widenthe saga followed this immortal warrior, embarked in spite of himself in a millennial struggle against other just as eternal beings – all to the sound of Queen.

But no question for Stahelski to make a simple copy-pumpy: “We will develop history, leave the 16th century Highlands to go beyond the current New York, to Hong Kong … We will see what it gives.” A contemporary rereading therefore, which intends to respect the original mythology while instilling a new blade to it.

We will see what it gives within two or three years.
