The new Spawn will be a horror superhero film
Jason Blum promises that he will infuse his “little Blumhouse side” to this new film adaptation of the comics.
He’s next on the list. Spawn is going to be entitled to a new cinema adaptation and he is the specialist in horror films, Jason Blum, founder of the Blumhouse studio, who will take care of it. He promises today (via Bleeding Cool News) that his film carried by Jamie Foxx will be very different from other superhero films:
“Yes, I’m going to infuse that little bit of Blumhouse into the Spawn movie. It’s going to make it something bold and original compared to other superhero movies. It’s definitely going to feel like the Blumhouse version of a superhero movie. hero.”
We therefore understand a dark and creepy version.
Created by Todd McFarlane, co-founder of Image Comics, Spawn debuted in 1992. A feature film adaptation starring Michael Jai White in the eponymous role was released theatrically in 1997 but was a bitter failure.
In the years that followed, the project for a remake grew stronger until it came to fruition with Blumhouse. McFarlane was originally going to direct this new film himself Spawnbut he left the project after signing the first draft of the script, which has since undergone a number of rewrites. Jason Blum has confirmed that this remake will be released sometime in 2025.
