The Office’s new office welcomes its employees
Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei and Ramona Young join the cast of the new spin-off series of the cult sitcom.
It won’t be easy to succeed Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms… But the new team of the reboot of The Office is being formed. After signing its two headliners, Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars) And Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), the new series welcomes three additional employees.
Melvin Gregg (Snowfall), Chelsea Frei (Poker Face) And Ramona Young (My First Times) have joined the cast. The announcement is from the small local California newspaper, the Palisadian-Post in Pacific Palisades, because the actors are currently following reporters into the field, immersing themselves in the life of a local newspaper in order to prepare for their roles.
Indeed, in this new version of The Officethe mockumentary will leave aside the “Dunder Mifflin” paper company, to take us behind the scenes of a regional newspaper title. The story is expected to take place in the same universe – which means that Dunder Mifflin will exist and will even, possibly, be the paper supplier for the newspaper – and it should be called The Paper (working title). The official synopsis reveals: “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is looking for a new story when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper that’s on the verge of disappearing and the editor who’s trying to revive it with the help of volunteer journalists.”
Greg Danielswho developed the US version of The Office (originally created in England by Ricky Gervais) is still at the helm.
The new series will be available on Universal’s Peacock platform in the United States. No broadcaster in France yet.
