Alien Earth: “It’s quite terrifying to find yourself faced with a xenomorph …”

Sydney Chandler and Alex Lawther tell us their traumatic experience on the set of the Disney Plus series.

Hawley has imagined a gallery of jubilant monsters, which goes from the eye poulpe parasitic eye to the brainstorm insect, obviously passing through the famous xenomorphic. Alex Lawther – who plays Hermit, Wendy’s human brother – tells the first to have lived very intense moments on the set, facing creatures:

“It’s quite terrifying to play in this kind of production. Because your body does not know that all is for false. At the end of the day of filming, it takes a lot of time to go back down, drop adrenaline and succeed in sleeping …”

A feeling shared by Sydney Chandler. The young star of Alien Earth admits that she “did not expect that”. Wendy’s interpreter, totally inhabited by her role, gave his person to face the xenomorphs and tells:

“The body reacts in an animal way. Even when you play. Flee or fight, your body instinctively responds, even if you are on a set.”

And she assures him with a large smile:

“It is something to find yourself facing a xenomorphic! Even if it is in fact a stuntman, in this case Cameron Brown, an adorable type, vegan and coming from New Zealand …”
