Season 3 of The Summer I Became Pretty will not be released in 2024

The stars of the summer where I became pretty harassed online, prime video calms fans

“The series is not real, but the people who embody the characters, they are.” An unfortunately compulsory reminder, for spectators that are too invested.

It is a series that arouses a certain craze … sometimes a little too intense.

Tuesday, Amazon Prime Video reminded fans to “keep exchanges benevolent this summer”, as the Grand Final of the Teen Romantic Series approached, the summer when I became pretty, adaptation of the novels of Jenny Han. The last season 3 was launched in July on the platform and in a few weeks, we will know who finally chose Belly … Inevitably, it will annoy some, so Prime Video recalls:

“The series is not real, but the people who embody the characters, they are.”

A way to prevent fans that online casting will not be tolerated. And we can read a scathing visual indicating: “The summer we started to behave normally online”.

The series had already warned the spectators of its “zero tolerance policy towards harassment and hateful remarks” at the time of the launch of season 3 in July.

These reminders come after several casting members were the online harassment target. According to Variety, Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah Fisher, has even received death threats. In season 3, Jeremiah and his brother Conrad (Christopher Briney) are both in love with their longtime friend Belly (Lola Tung). After unexpected engagement between Jeremiah and Belly, the love triangle becomes even more dramatic, while the two brothers compete for the attention of their confidante.

Harassment is not limited to divided fans between #Teamconrad and #Teamjeremiah. Casalegno was also targeted because of his supposed political opinions, relayed through his commitment with conservative publications on social networks.

The series in the summer when I became pretty will conclude with its final episode on Wednesday, September 17.
