There will be 28 years later 3… and with Cillian Murphy!

According to DeadlineSony has officially decided to launch 28 years later 3 – the fifth film in the saga – after the enthusiastic reception reserved for the test screenings of Temple of the Deadexpected in theaters next January. The studio had had an option for a trilogy for a long time, but preferred to wait to see how the second film would be received before validating the final chapter. Because 28 years later – first part of this new trilogy which extends the 28 days later And 28 weeks later – had a very disappointing box office ($150 million worldwide), despite positive reviews.
28 years later 3 had therefore been on standby for several months. But at an event at AMC Century City in Los Angeles, the reactions — described with excited screams — were reportedly enthusiastic enough to get the film rolling again.
For the moment, no official title has leaked, but development is underway.
The work is also accelerating on the creative side. Alex Garland, co-creator of the saga with Danny Boyle, is writing the screenplay for this third opus.
