Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender reveals its first trailer

We discover the live-action version of Toph, the young blind girl and Master of the Earth.

Little Avatar has really grown up! Actor Gordon Cormier was around twelve years old when he was recruited to play Aang in the live-action Netflix series. He is now 16 years old, time has passed since season 1… and it shows!

Two years later, season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender delivers its trailer, which offers a first glimpse of Toph’s entry on the scene.

Played by Miya Cech (The Santa Clauses), Toph remains faithful to the animated series: born blind, she perceives the world thanks to her incredible Earth-bending abilities. In the teaser unveiled by Netflix, she summarizes her philosophy: “Everything vibrates around us. The world turns. There is a secret life under our feet. We are all connected… by the earth.”

Netflix remains very discreet about the plot of this season 2 but, as with the first, everything indicates that the series will continue to closely follow the plot of the Nickelodeon cartoon.

The official synopsis confirms the immediate sequence of events:

“After a bittersweet victory against the Fire Nation invasion at the North Pole, Aang, Katara and Sokka hit the road again to convince the elusive Earth King to join the fight against the fearsome Fire Lord Ozai.”

Miya Cech therefore joins Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Momona Tamada (Ty Lee), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), Maria Zhang (Suki) and Daniel Dae Kim (Ozai) in the cast.

Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender will be released in 2026 on Netflix. No release date yet.
