Trailer: Maudits Français, the Franco-Quebec comedy which will open Alpe d’Huez 2027

A Franco-Quebec ensemble comedy that brings together two completely opposed families around a colorful wedding.

This is the film that will open the 30th edition of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival next winter.

Cursed French unveils its trailer before its theatrical release, scheduled for February 24, 2027.

It promises a family comedy about tolerance, which confronts two cultures around a marriage, is reminiscent of What have we done to the Good Lord? and its recipe for the clash of families and the differences that bring us together.

Directed by Quebec filmmaker Émile Gaudreault, based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Guy Laurent, Cursed French is a Franco-Quebec ensemble comedy with an XXL cast: Lambert Wilson, Suzanne Jouannet, Thierry Lhermitte, Patrick Huard, Anne Consigny, Antoine Bertrand, Laura Laune, Pier-Luc Funk, Sandrine Bisson, Pierrette Robitaille, Édouard Delavoine, Magali Saint-Vincent and Patrick Chanfray.

The synopsis: “When two completely opposite families come together for a wedding, it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly. On one side, a French family, aristocratic, grumpy and conservative. On the other, a Quebec family, with a caring, optimistic appearance and a bit too “woke” in the eyes of their hosts. Between misunderstandings and cultural shocks, the two clans will have to learn to tolerate each other – and perhaps even, ultimately, to appreciate each other…“

The 30th edition of the Alpe d’Huez Festival will take place from January 18 to 24, 2027. The entire selection will be revealed soon.
