What if Paul Walker was added as an AI in Fast Forever?

While Vin Diesel wants to bring back Brian O’Conner in the last part of the saga, Cody Walker mentions for the first time the possibility of recreating his brother using new technologies.

Could Paul Walker make one last appearance in Fast & Furious ?

Ever since Vin Diesel hinted that Brian O’Conner would have a role in Fast Foreverspeculation is rife. And while the eleventh film must be the last in the saga, a particularly sensitive possibility is emerging: bringing the character back using digital technologies, or even artificial intelligence.

The brother of the deceased actor, Cody Walker, has in any case confirmed that this option is technically possible. Asked by Entertainment Weeklyhe explains above all that he does not wish to resume the role of understudy that he had held with his brother Caleb to finish Fast 7after the death of Paul Walker in 2013.

“My take is that that’s what his daughter, Meadow, wants. It’s her father after all…“, explains Cody Walker, in reference to Meadow Walker, the actor’s only daughter. “I would not be interested in redoing the lining. I love how his character left the franchise. They didn’t kill him, they didn’t do something cheesy. It’s beautiful: Brian left to raise his children…”

“AI did not exist in 2014”

But Cody Walker recognizes that a new solution exists today compared to Fast 7.

“If they want to do it, if Meadow wants to see it, they don’t need me or Caleb. AI didn’t exist in 2014, so they could do this.”

It also reminds us that there is “years of footage that was never used” in the different films of the saga. According to him, the teams of Fast & Furious therefore have enough material to imagine a new appearance of Brian.

This would be a very different situation from that of Fast 7. After the death of Paul Walker during filming, the film was significantly revised. Cody and Caleb Walker served as stunt doubles, while visual effects and archival footage recreated the actor’s face. The end of the film finally offered Brian a particularly moving exit, without killing the character: he left Dom and the rest of the gang to devote himself to his family. Since then, Brian has been regularly mentioned in the saga, but has never really reappeared. His daughter Meadow Walker, however, made a cameo in Fast Xin 2023.

It remains to be seen whether Meadow Walker wants to see her father on screen one last time…
