Trailer of the new thriller in Florence de Stefano Sollima
“The Monster of Florence” will follow one of the most famous criminal affairs in Italy, which caused all Tuscany to shiver in the 1980s.
This is the story of an elusive serial killer, who terrorized the whole north of Italy.
The specialist in Transalpine Polar, Stefano Sollima, is back on Netflix with the Florence monster, which reveals his first trailer, before his preview at the Venice Mostra in a few days.
Inspired by real facts, the mini-series returns to a series of sexual murders that struck the surroundings of Florence between the late 1960s and the mid-1980s. Eight double assassinations, over 17 years, attributed to that which Italy has nicknamed Il Mostro, a serial killer who attacked isolated couples in their car, always with the same weapon: a gun
Composed of four episodes, the series will be posted on Netflix on October 22.
The trailer reveals a tense atmosphere, plunging into a precise investigation track, nicknamed the “Sardinian track”, which involved a couple from Sardinia installed in Tuscany. “These murders concern women. It is violence specifically directed against them,” said a Florentine magistrate in the images.
In large part shot in Florence and its surroundings, the series marks the reunion of Sollima with the screenwriter Leonardo Fasoli and the head operator Paolo Carnera, his accomplices on Gomorra and Zerozerozero.
In the cast: Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Fadda, Antonio Tintis and Giordano Mannu.
