True Detective: season 5 has already been ordered!
HBO was quick to renew its anthology, keeping the new boss, Issa López, at the helm.
No offense to Nic Pizzolatto, True Detective be fine and continue without him. Season 4 in Alaska was a nice little success, so HBO decided to renew the anthology. True Detective will have a season 5 and the showrunner and director Issa Lopez will return to the controls.

I can not wait to return to” rejoices the new boss of True Detective in the press release, congratulated in the process by HBO which salutes its “own laudable vision, inspiring us with her resilience both on paper and behind the camera. Alongside the impeccable performances of Jodie and Kali, she made this new installment of the franchise a huge success“.

This renewal comes just a few days after the broadcast of the finale of True Detective: Night Country (in France on Prime Video with the Warner pass), which became the most watched season in the history of the series with 12.7 million viewers on average (all platforms combined in the USA).
No date announced yet for season 5, which should probably wait until 2026.
