“We have always known …” James Cameron celebrates the victory of Zoe Saldaña at the Oscars

Her Avatar actress won her first statuette this weekend during the 97th ceremony.

Before being an Oscar -winning actress recognized for Emilia Pérez,, Zoe Saldaña was a blockbuster star, with a career at the historic box office. Thanks to Avengersto Galaxy goalkeepers and especially thanks to the first two parts ofAvatar, Zoe Saldaña helped bring billions of dollars to Hollywood.

But often grimted (green in Gamora, blue in Neytiri …), subscribed to green funds and digital touch -ups, it was very difficult to highlight your personal performance. But James Cameronhe has always known that she was a great actress. And in the wake of his Oscar victory, the director shared a moving reaction (in Variety):

“I am so happy to see Zoe recognized as the world class actress that she and that we, in the Avatar family, have always known that she was. Her thank you speech was a noble reminder of what immigrant families bring to the United States and Hollywood.”

James Cameron Directed Saldaña in Avatar (2009) and Avatar: the waterway (2022). He is currently in post-production of the third installment in the saga, where she will still play a major role. After his victory at the Golden Globes in January, Zoe Saldaña said Cameron was one of the first people to have sent him a congratulating message.

Avatar: Fire and Ash On December 18, will be released at the cinema.
