Wedding Nightmare 2: the game wasn’t over… (trailer)

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood and David Cronenberg join Samara Weaving in the sequel.

In the first Wedding Nightmare (Ready or Not in original version), released in 2019, Samara Weaving survived a bloody hide-and-seek with her husband’s Satanist family. A horror comedy which turned into a real little hit, with 57 million dollars at the box office for a budget of 6 million. A good reason to immerse the scream queen in a new game that is even more violent and macabre. The synopsis of Wedding Nightmare: Part Two announces the color:

Shortly after escaping the merciless attack of the Le Domas family, Grace (Samara Weaving) discovers that she has reached a new level in this nightmarish game – and she will have her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton), at her side. She will only have one chance to both survive, protect her sister and claim the High Seat of the Council that governs the world. This time, four rival families are hunting her down to seize the throne, and the one who wins will have absolute power.

The duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, to whom we owe the latest Scream and who will achieve The Mummy 4 (with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz), are once again at the helm of this sequel. And the trailer also promises a gory and fun film, with hardcore deaths (including a very generous head explosion).

Wedding Nightmare 2 also puts the package in the new faces of the cast, with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, director David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood to surround Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton. The film will be released in France on April 8, 2026.
