Crucial moment for the future series Harry Potter. The head writer is about to be hired by Warner Bros. According to Deadline, the three finalists are Francesca Gardiner, Tom Moran and Kathleen Jordan. So who will be the showrunner in the end?
The trio will work on their pitches over the coming weeks, with the final selection expected in June.
Gardiner worked as a consulting producer on seasons 3 and 4 of Succession and would be the favorite from the start. Moran created the British fantasy thriller The Devil's Hour in 2022 and Jordan is behind the teenage series Teenage Bounty Hunterswhich had met with some success on Netflix.
A first meeting took place in Los Angeles with Casey Bloys, the boss of HBO and the president of the Warner Bros. group. TV, Channing Dungey, followed by another meeting in London where the creator of Harry Potter, JK Rowling, was involved. She would be widely included in the search for the showrunner who will develop the series with her.
