Zachary Levi slams Gunn brothers for nepotism
“Look, when you’re the brother of the guy who runs the DC studio, I think you can play whoever you want,” the Shazam actor said.
Interviewed by Comicbookmovie for Chicken Run 2 Zachary Levi had the opportunity to look into his future within the DCU. After the flop suffered by Shazam! The Rage of the Gods – both from the public and from critics – Zachary Levi still regrets not being able to continue playing this character. Zachary claimed the happiness of being paid to play “an immature version” of himself.
“I think the film was better in some ways than the first one. It’s like that. It was a very pleasant character to play, I am very proud of both films. I wish I could make more appearances. I would like to collaborate with Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern”confided the actor.
At the end of this statement the journalist asks him if he plans to play other characters in the DCU, like Sean Gunn who had the opportunity to play two DCU characters: Weasel and Calendar Man In Suicide Squad and the Kraglin Ravager in the trilogy Guardians of the Galaxy. The remark raised eyebrows from the actor who completely highlighted the nepotism of the Gunn brothers:
“Look, when you’re the brother of the guy who runs the DC studio, I think you can play whoever you want“, did he declare.
In addition to these two DCU characters, a third is added to the list of Sean Gunn since he will soon play the evil businessman Maxwell Lord, a wealthy man, played in 2020 by Pedro Pascal In Wonder Woman 1984.
For now, it’s the sweet voice of Zachary Levi who will do “Cock-a-doodle Doo !” of the character of Rocky in Chicken Run: The Nugget Menace (he replaces Mel Gibson) Who will be available on Netflix THE December 15, 2023.
