2025 cannes festival: a double poster like a man and a woman
In tribute to Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant, the Cannes festival unveils a double poster of the famous embrace of the two deceased actors.
For the first time in the history of the Cannes Film Festival, this 78th edition reveals not one but two official posters ! These highlight a cult scene of French cinema, the embrace of the two lovers ofA man and a woman by Claude Lelouch. Crowned with Palme d’Or in 1966this film brings together two big names in the seventh art: Anouk Aiméedisappeared on June 18, 2024 and Jean-Louis Trintignantdied June 17, 2022. The success ofA man and a woman has also crossed the Atlantic: he won in 1967 The Oscar for the best foreign film in addition to that of Best original scenario. “Because this embrace is undoubtedly the most famous of the 7th art, and not to separate two beings who love each other, the Cannes Festival chooses for the first time in its history to present an official double poster.”
The organizers bind this visual to the news that they describe as “Low” In a press release: “When the time seems to want to separate, partition or submit, the Cannes festival wishes (re) unir”. The double poster, which represents The embrace from two different anglesforever brings together the icon of the new wave and this major figure in author cinema that is Jean-Louis Trintignant.
Claude Lelouch said on Monday evening on the set of C to you be “Very moved, because all these people are no longer there. They went somewhere where soon I will join them.”
