Death of Benoît Allemane, the French voice of Morgan Freeman
The actor doubled as a Hollywood star for more than 40 years.
From Robin Hood, prince of thieves (1991) and Ruthless (1992), he had become a familiar voice on our screens. Benoît Allemane died on January 5. The actor, who mainly worked in the theater, had just turned 82.
If Benoît Allemane has appeared in a few films and series (his last role being in Magnificat by Virginie Sauveur, in 2023), Benoît Allemane was above all a legend of French dubbing, ensuring the French version of Morgan Freeman for more than 40 years and around fifty films and other projects, until A Good Person of Zach Braff (2023) and the series Special Operations : Lioness (since 2023).

Benoît Allemane had also had the chance to meet Morgan Freemanin real life, last year during the Monte-Carlo festival.

He was also part of the family Looney Tunes from Warner Bros. doubling Charlie the Rooster for decades. Finally, we heard it in the series Malcolmwhere he was Commander Edwin Spangler of the Francis Military School.
