Hugh Jackman sings “Sweet Caroline”: trailer for Song Sung Blue
This feel good movie on the Band tribute of Neil Diamond, Lightning & Thunder, will be released for the Christmas holidays.
You inevitably know some of his songs. In particular the famous catchphrase of “Sweet Caroline”, which often resonates in rugby stadiums or basketball rooms these days. Neil Diamond is an icon of the American variety and his work will be interpreted in the cinema this winter by Hugh Jackman.
The actor / singer – who has already given voice in The miserable Or The Greatest Showman – Go perform to perform in Song Sung Blue. As the official trailer has just been posted online (below), it will not be a biopic on Neil Diamond, but the true history of an adorable duo who resumed his tubes in the depths of Wisconsin.
Directed by Craig Brewer (who had done A prince in New York 2 Recently) this musical drama will bring together Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in the shoes of a married couple who decides to set up a tribute band from Neil Diamond.
Inspired by the eponymous documentary of Greg Koh (2008), the film retraces the true story of Mike and Claire Sardina, couple of Milwaukee musicians without the defense of a local reference under the name of Lightning & Thunder.
Synopsis: According to a true story, two drifting musicians (Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson) form a joyful band band in tribute to Neil Diamond, proving that it is never too late to find love and realize his dreams. “
We will also find in the casting Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens and Jim Belushi.
Craig Brewer also signs the scenario.
Song Sung Bluewhose title echoes the hit Song Sung Blue Released by Diamond released in 1972, was expected in theaters in France on December 31, 2025.
