The Morning Show: will season 5 be the last?
The prestigious Apple series is already renewed for the sequel… and the end?
While season 4 ends today on Apple TV (and on MyCanal in France), the question is already worrying fans: will The Morning Show end after season 5?
Charlotte Stoudt, showrunner and writer of the series, recently responded to Deadline about the future of the drama led by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Remember that Apple had renewed the series for a fifth season in September, even before season 4 was broadcast.
Asked about a possible end after season 5, Stoudt explained: “A lot of it is a question for Apple. And also for the actors. They are very busy and have lots of other projects.” The screenwriter added:
“To be honest, we’re still very early in writing Season 5, so my real answer is: I don’t know. It all depends on where these characters end up (at the end of Season 5) and how long it takes them to find clarity about their lives. And right now, no one is really sure about anything. It’s a very unsettling time.”
If the series were to extend beyond season 5, Stoudt is already planning to introduce new characters as real “wild cards” to shake up the existing dynamic.
The big question is how much longer this Morning Show will be able to count on Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and Billy Crudup.
