Will Hugh Jackman be in Avengers: Doomsday and the MCU sequel?

The performer no longer says that he will never play Wolverine again…

Hugh Jackman swore it was over. After Logan in 2017, the actor seemed to have definitively given up on Wolverine, closing a story of almost 20 years… and literally burying the character. Then came Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, the XXL box, the divine alchemy with Ryan Reynolds, and the temptation impossible to refuse.

Since then, fans have been wondering: when will we see Hugh Jackman in the yellow jumpsuit again?

As always with Marvel, everything is vague, mysterious. Guest on Saturday on “The Graham Norton Show”, the actor was questioned head-on about a possible return. And he took care to leave the door open:

Graham Norton first reminded him: “Every time you come, you say, ‘No, I won’t do it again.’ And in the end, you make another one. And it’s a big, big box. So… So you’re going to have to make another one?”

Hugh Jackman replied with a smirk: “Maybe.”

Before letting go, hilarious:

I will never say ‘never’ again.”

He continues: “I really meant it when I said ‘never,’ until one day I changed my mind. For years, I really believed it.”

Still in joke mode, he adds that Marvel now has enough material to make an AI Wolverine: “With everything I’ve filmed, they could very well put me in the next films without me being there. Besides, I’ve done your show five or six times: I’m perhaps in the dressing room right now…”

This little teasing game is obviously timely. The commotion around Avengers: Doomsday keeps going up. And if for the moment he has not been announced in the casting, fans are already dreaming of seeing Wolverine make an appearance in the team…

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 16, 2026 in cinemas in France.
