Bill Skarsgård becomes The Crow: first images
The 2024 remake is revealed, also with FKA Twigs.
30 years after Brandon Lee, Bill Skarsgard puts himself in the shoes of The Crow. A first look at the 2024 remake of the gothic action classic has just been released (via Vanity Fair). We discover the new look of Eric Draven and Shelly, who will be played by FKA Twigs. “This look was me in the 90s when we were hanging out in London. A style mixed with modern influences like Post Malone and Lil Peep” explains director Rupert Sanders in Vanity Fair.
Rupert Sanders' new film is a different take on James O'Barr's source material, but the director also considers it a tribute of sorts to Brandon Lee's memory.
“Brandon was an original voice,” he tells VF. “I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done.”

In this remake of The Crow, goth rocker Eric Draven (Skarsgard) and his girlfriend Shelly (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when demons from Shelly's (Danny Huston) past catch up with them. Caught in a state of uncertainty between the living and the dead, Eric sets out to avenge their deaths, traveling the boundary between the natural and supernatural worlds.
French Sami Bouajila will also be in the casting.
Director Rupert Sanders (Ghost in the Shell) explains seeing his film as “a dark romance, something that deals with loss, heartbreak and the ethereal veil between life and death and how to get through it.”
Released on June 5 in France.
